MIGRATION: Emigrated to the USA in 1869 - Janie Leuthold has a family bible that contains a note that reads: TO CHARLOTTE FROM MOTHER ON LEAVING FOR AMERICA - 1869.
She arrived in Austin, Nevada with her family about August 1873 (arrival reported in Austin Newspaper dated 11 Aug 1873). Later, after the death of her husband, she moved to Butte, Montana. The 1900 Census recorded that she had borne nine children, five of whom were living. 1900-1902, she was living at 719 S Arizona, Butte.

In the 1902 Directory of Butte, Silver Bow County, Montana, she is listed as a widow boarding at 142 Ruby.
In 1905-1909 was still living at 719 S Arizona, Butte.

DEATH: Died of Haemaplegia, with Senility as a contributary cause. Death certificate held by me. At time of death, her home was still 719 South Arizona Street, Butte, Silver Bow County, Montana.

OBITUARY: The Spokesman-Review (WA), 23 Mar 1909:

Anconda, Mont.--Mrs. Charlotte Argall, a native of England, who had a long time ago passed the time of "three score years and ten," died March 17 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bessie Williams Deebe. Mrs. Argall was 83 years of age and had been a resident of Montana for 18 years. She came to the United States 40 years ago and lived for the greater part of that time in the west.

Besides her daughter, she leaves three sons, William of Eureka, Utah; Henry of Goldfield, Nevada; and John of South Africa.
