GENERAL NOTES: CHAPITRE IX: LES PEINTRES DU XIXème SIECLE: Carolina Elisabeth TREU, née à Bâle (St. Theodor) le 22 novembre 1814, fille de Johann Rudolf TREU et de Esperance BIENZ.

La famille TREU, originaire de Ulm (Allemagne), reçue bourgeoise de Bâle en 1533, porte une foi héraldique dans ses armes dites parlantes. Elle est étudiée dans tous les armoriaux bâlois et les archives d'État conservent un très beau tableau généalogique polychrome donnant l'état de la famille au début du XXème siècle. Une autre alliance a été contractée par les à Wengen avec les Treu (voir Emanuel Ier von Wengen, XIème génération).

c) Karolina Maria à WENGEN, née à Bâle (St. Peter) le 16 avril 1840, épouse à Hammersmith (Middlesex, Grande-Bretagne) le 1er novembre 1873 Harry Kempthorne ARGALL, né à Islington (Middlesex, Grande-Bretagne) le 12 avril 1824, y baptisé le 5 janvier 1825, fils d'Henry Eva ARGALL & de Caroline Grace GARLAND. Elle meurt à Hammersmith (Middlesex, Grande-Bretagne) le 13 novembre 1877. Il meurt à Whitchurch, Tavistock (Devon, Grande-Bretagne) le 31 mai 1909. D'où postérité.
