OBITUARY: Published in Bakersfield Californian on December 29, 2009:

Hans Karl Wesemann 1918 - 2009 Hans (Hansie) Wesemann passed away December 27, 2009 after a brief illness. Hans was born July 2, 1918, in New York City, New York, the oldest of two children born to Hans Paul and Clara Wesemann. Hans and his sister Ingeborg grew up in various towns in New Jersey and Connecticut. As a young man, he spent several years working in Germany as a cabinet maker and living with relatives. Unfortunately he ended up stranded in Germany during the years of WWII, suffering many hardships and deprivations along with his relatives. He returned to the United States as thin as a rail, to live with his father in New York City. Hans worked for a time in a small bookstore, and eventually moved to Los Altos Hills, California. After his father passed away, Hans secured job training and placement through the Good Will organization, working for Varian and Frito Lay.

He moved to San Jose, and then Sunnyvale, where he met and married his wife Elleonore (Ellie) Amanda Argall. After Ellie passed away, Hans moved to Bakersfield to be near his sister Ingeborg Scott. Hans lived for many years at Glenwood Gardens, and enjoyed being close to his extended family including his niece, Gwendolyn (Wendy) Scott, and his nephew, Robert (Mike) Scott and his family (wife Teddie Lee Scott, and children, Christina Robin Scott, Erica Michele Scott, and John Michael Scott). Hans was a consummate jokester and punster, and his family insisted that he raise his hand when telling a joke - that way they knew to think a little harder about what Hans was saying, to be sure to catch the pun or the twist. Hans will be remembered by his loved ones as a kind, gentle spirit, a devoted husband, and a true gentleman. We know that Hans would want us to send his regards to all his friends and acquaintances in Sunnyvale, and to his companions and caregivers at Glenwood Gardens. No services are planned.
