GENERAL NOTES:
Illegitimate. Born as Joseph Rosewarne but became known as Joseph Letcher. He was fathered by Joseph Letcher, in 1835, wqho was a Grocer in Gwennap. The father seemed to take some responsibility for the child after the mother abandoned the child, as he placed him in the care of Sabella (Argall) Carvolth. The child's name was changed to Letcher, under which surname the child appears in the 1841 UK Census. All subsequent entries for the offspring is under LETCHER.
