Notes
General:
GENERAL NOTES: Alice Middleton was the step-daughter of Sir Thomas More, and had married Sir Giles Allington as a widow of Thomas Erlington, by whom she had three sons: William, Richard and Philip.

John Middleton [ some variations on spelling] who married ALICE born 1471 this ALICE M 2ndly in 1511 to SIR THOMAS MORE 1478/1535 as his 2nd wife, after Jane Colt died and in his biography states his 2nd wife 7 yrs older than him. The daughter of John and ALICE was the Alice Middleton who married c.1516 to Thomas Elrington [OTHER spellings seen, but this is most likely correct, as were an influential family supplying wine to the royal table] then later in 1524 to Giles Alington, bc1501-1586 - Giles was actually a ward of the MORE Family because his father died 1522 before his majority.

Alice Allington, to my understanding she was the daughter of Robert Alington [NOT by his father Sir Giles 1500-1/1578 by Ursula, thus Robert naming his daughter, by his step-mother Alice Middleton ]. ALICE was sister of Elizabeth & Giles Alington d.1573 m= margaret spencer d/o sir john. Alice married 1 = william sewster of steeple-morden - m2= edward talkerne [or tallakerne], of Stoke Neyland, Suffolk, by whom they had an ANNE & Sir John/Capt d.1627 m=Lucy Cotton d/o Thomas of Connington, Cambs. as you say time difference makes it impossible to beleive he was in his eightees fighting -is there any evidence his father was john rater than edward/edmond?? It is further suggested that this Edward, later died Stoke-by-Clare 1597 by a memorial, village very close to ASHEN, Essex, [where Sir John got lands from the HUNT family.] though elsewhere your site mentions a bumpstead-helion?- also close-by [is there a mix up of STOKE's, by previous historical records, along with name edward for edmond???, or is there another explaination]. This ALICE would have to have been born pre 1552, and certainly not earlier than say 1535. P.S. A long shot, perhaps a search of SEWSTER may give a clue??? understanding that a Sewster married a daughter of the CROMWELL family in 1600's
