GENERAL NOTES: ANNE LEWYN had a sister JUDITH who married SIR JOHN ISHAM d.1651 of Northamptonshire DR WILLIAM LEWYN was a master in chancery 1598, which explains how he may have met Lawrence Washington. DR LEWYN had been a tutor in William Cecil -Ld Burleigh, London's household to his daughter Anne Cecil and intended son in law Edward de Vere, Cecil's ward. Later the 17th Earl of Oxford used Dr Lewyn's intervention/assistance in connection with problems concerned him at Earls Colne.
