OBITUARY: 1905-12-01 Waterloo Semi Weekly Reporter:

Dewar.'97Special: Thomas Harn, a well known and highly respected farmer residing near Fairbank has passed away. The funeral was held this morning at 10:00 o'clock from the Catholic church at Fairbank, and burial was In the cemetery there.
Mr. Harn was formerly a resident of Lester township and has made his home in Iowa for a great many years. He had an extensive acquaintance for miles hereabouts, and his death will be mourned by many.

1905-12-05 Waterloo Semi Weekly Reporter:

Thomas Harn died at his home in Patterson's addition Sunday morning, Nov. 26, after nearly a year's illness. All that medical skill and kind nursing could do were done, but after long suffering death came to his relief. Thomas Harn was 52 years of age. He was a soldier in the regular army. He has lived in this community many years and been a resident of this town ten years. For three years he has been rural mail carrier on route 5. He was a hard working, honest man and a faithful member of the Catholic church. He is survived by wife, two daughters, Nora and Nellie, and three sons, Thomas, Timothy and Joseph. All were at home when the reaper came. The funeral was held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception church. Rev. Donahue conducted the services. The G.A.R. attended the funeral.The remains, accompanied by wife and son, were taken to Aplington for burial, on the afternoon train.

The remains of Mr. Thomas P. Harn were brought here from Fairbanks, Buchanan Co., for burial Tuesday and interred in the Catholic cemetery, He was 52 years of age.
